Another amazing purchase from amazon. Love this watch, first saw it in the shop. Good build quality, look awesome on my wrist. Easy to read it in dark places. For the price I paid, it was a bargain. Thanks to amazon the watch arrived in less than 5 days, all the way from usa to my country Malaysia.

1UPDATE: A professional grade piece of gearMar 07, 2012

I wanted to offer an update to my original posting under the same title after my purchase in Spring of '09. I think all things considered, I would give this product a 3 star rating after a couple years of use. I have left my previous 5 star post intact, and I figure by posting a new review with a 1 star rating, that averages out to my 3 star rating AND catches a potential buyers attention so that they are forewarned of this product's shortcomings ... With that being said, this watch has good features, but here is where the problem lies...

There is only ONE jeweler or watch repairman IN THE WORLD that is certified to work on your Luminox (that is ANY Luminox) and that is Saltzmans Watches of Rhode Island. This is due to the fact that Luminox watches use tritium. What this means to you is that the sky is the limit when it comes to cost of repairs (competition is a good thing). Also, Saltzman will not provide an over-the-phone estimate, so if your watch has problems your choices are a) trash the watch or b) send your watch to Saltzman having no idea how much it will cost you to repair and wait. Trying to get any information from Saltzman over the phone seems to insult them and they are pretty rude. They won't even tell you what the average cost is for a standard service like replacing a battery or mineral crystal. To me that seems sketchy in itself. If they are the only jeweler to repair Luminox watches they should have it down to a science as to how much it costs to replace standard items. But they refuse to offer a quote over the phone, so you have no choice but to wait until you have sent it in, and they have charged you just to look at it. Only then they will give you a quote.

In the 3 years I have owned the watch the mineral crystal has shattered due to impact twice. The impacts were moderate at worst (wrist hitting a concrete wall while walking at normal pace and wrist hitting metal racking while retrieving items from the shelf). Both my Timex camper and my G-shock have seen much worse abuse, they cost half the price, and they kept on ticking.

I have received many compliments on the watch-- heck, even my Battalion CO asked if he could take a look at it-- and that is just dandy. If you are looking for a watch that shows off how tactical you like to appear, this might be a good choice... But as a result of the aforementioned, I no longer trust this as my end-all-be-all field watch. In case you are curious, the bill for replacing the mineral crystal, including shipping works out to about $125 per instance

4Luminox EVO Navy Seal Watch 3951Mar 06, 2010

Nice light watch with nylon/velcro band. The glow isn't too bright and won't affect your night vision. Keeps good time. I like it.

4Nice and light weightSep 07, 2009

This is a birthday gift for my son who is in the US airforce
I have an 8400 series watch from luminox and like it .this watch is made with a light weight polymer and it seems like half the weight with the same style face. I recommend it for someone who wants a big watch without the weight.

5Great watch for any adventurerFeb 17, 2008

I bought this watch because I had always been a fan of Luminox and I needed a durable watch that could handle anything. The build quality is excellent and the watch is unnoticeable on your wrist. Lightweight and bulletproof are best ways to describe it. The illumination on the hands and markers is excellent so you can see why it's a favorite of the SEALS.
